Mobile Computing
and Communications Review
Author Submission Guidelines
Mobile Computing and Communications Review (MC2R)
is the publication of the ACM Special Interest Group on Mobile Computing and
Communications (SIGMOBILE) and prints papers and articles on topics within the
SIG's field of interest. Papers submitted to MC2R are reviewed
for relevance and technical coherence. Papers printed in MC2R
are not subject to the ACM prior publication rule and may be submitted to other
ACM journals for publication. Authors receive complimentary copies of the issue
in which their submission is published.
Format for Papers
Papers submitted to MC2R should conform to the following
specifications:
- All material submitted must be in postscript or PDF format. The original
LaTeX or Word files will be required for an accepted manuscript so we can
perform the final copy formatting. Note that LaTeX is strongly encouraged
as the format for the final manuscript as it allows us to easily maintain
the same "look-and-feel" across all the papers. Delays in publishing of a
final, accepted manuscript can possibly occur due to the extra difficulty
in reformatting Word documents.
- For those using LaTeX (2e), here is a beta
style file we use for formatting and here
is a test input file with example output in PostScript.
(Note: this is a new style file as of November 1, 2001) The
style file requires the publicly available Adobe fonts to be properly setup
in your LaTeX installation as well as the graphics/color packages and fancyhdr
package. These files are all available through any of the TeX CTAN archives
(such as ftp.dante.de). If you have an older version of LaTeX or incomplete
installation, you may wish to simply follow the other instructions below.
- Manuscripts should be single spaced (except for papers containing a great
deal of mathematical notation; these should be prepared with as little additional
line spacing as possible).
- Manuscripts should be formatted for two columns with a gutter width of 1/8".
- The paper should be meant for printing on 8.5 by 11 inch paper. Left and
right margins should be 3/4" from the edges of the page and the top and bottom
margins should be 1/2".
- No header or footer information (page numbers, names, report numbers, etc.)
should appear on the pages.
- The title of the paper should appear on the first page. Authors are encouraged
to include a short abstract of approximately 100 words. The text of the paper
should begin a few lines below the abstract. The author's names, affiliations,
email addresses, or another other identifying information should not
be included in the manuscript. All submitted papers will be judged based on
their quality by double-blind review process, with the identity of the authors
withheld from the reviewers. Authors should separately email the title, author
names, full address, two subject areas and abstract of their papers
to the editors.
- To ensure that the PostScript-formatted papers are readable by the editorial
staff, the document should be in PostScript version 2 or later, and reference
only Computer Modern or standard Adobe fonts (i.e., Courier, Times Roman,
or Helvetica); other fonts may be used but must be included in the PostScript
file. The main text font should be 10 point Times or Times Roman.
- Authors are expected to inform the editor if a submission has completely
or substantially been published elsewhere; failure to do so is grounds for
not accepting the paper. Submissions which have been substantially revised,
improved or expanded beyond previously published work are most welcome, provided
the editor is informed at the time of submission.
