The conference will be hosted in the Heinz Nixdorf Forum (HNF), which is the home of the world’s largest computer museum. In the scope of the banquet dinner, we will guide you through the museum! The cultural history of information technology in a time journey covering 5,000 years. The museum is home of about 6,000 objects relating to calculating, writing and printing, office automation and computer technology, over 2,000 of these objects are presented in the exhibition.

For European standards, Paderborn is a young city with a history that goes back over 1200 years. There are many places of historical interest to see. Most interestingly, high-tech and the Middle Ages go hand-in-hand in harmonious co-existence in this dynamic city city pulsating with life, but still small enough to feel familiar. Situated on the River Pader, the town encompasses numerous parks, and is surrounded by beautiful countryside.
The first documentary mention of Paderborn dates back to the year 777. Paderborn has been playing a major role in the catholic church (since 1929, Paderborn is an archbishopric). In 836, the holy relics of St. Liborius have been transferred to Paderborn - this is celebrated every year during the Libori festival. In about 1000, Paderborn was awarded town status. After recovering from the second world war, the University of Paderborn has been founded in 1972.
