Call for Posters and Demos

Update Mar 30, 17:00 EDT: Due the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, we've decided to extend the deadline for MobiSys 2020 poster and demo submission by several days. The new submission deadline is April 5, 2020 -- 23:59pm EDT. Notification and camera ready dates remain the same. The latest updates can always be found at our website, https://www.sigmobile.org/mobisys/2020/.

Camera-ready Instructions

Camera-ready versions for poster and demo abstracts are due on May 3, 23:59pm EDT.

To summarize, you will need to:

  • Update your 2-page abstract according to the instructions below and submit it to https://mobisys20poster.hotcrp.com
  • Fill out the copyright form that was mailed to you separately from ACM.
  • Submit the LaTeX source files - this is a new requirement from ACM.
  • Prepare a 3-5 minute video and send us the URL. This can be done after the camera-ready deadline, or you can enter the URL along the camera-ready version in the submission website.

The instructions for the poster/demo camera-ready are based on the full paper instructions (updated ACM template, 9pt font size, ACM CCS, right management text, and so on), except the following changes:

  • The camera-ready version must be 2 pages long including references.
  • There are no shepherds, but you are encouraged to incorporate reviewer feedback.
  • Use the poster and demo submission site to submit your final version: https://mobisys20poster.hotcrp.com
The full-paper instructions are available here: https://www.sigmobile.org/mobisys/2020/camera-ready

Call for posters

MobiSys 2020 calls for posters and demos on topics as described https://www.sigmobile.org/mobisys/2020/cfp/. Selection of demonstration and posters will be based on a short abstract, evaluated in terms of technical merit, innovation, and the potential to stimulate interesting discussions and exchange of ideas at the conference. The accepted extended abstracts will be posted on the official conference website and will be included in the conference proceeding and the ACM Digital Library. At least one author of an accepted poster or demo must register for the conference and present the poster in person.

Posters

Posters should describe novel work not published before. The poster track is meant to introduce new or ongoing work and provide opportunities for authors to interact directly with conference attendees. Posters are especially suited for presenting controversial research directions that may generate discussion, or promising ideas not yet validated through extensive evaluation. The authors of the accepted demos will need to submit a 2-min short video together with the camera-ready version of the abstract.

Demos

Demo abstracts should describe both the technology being showcased as well as the user experience of the demo. Tables, power, and wireless connectivity will be provided. If a demo requires additional special arrangements, please describe them clearly in your submission using a separate third page (not part of the technical content of the abstract). The authors of the accepted demos will be invited to submit an optional short video together with the camera-ready version of the abstract.

Submission Guidelines

  • Poster submissions must include an extended abstract no longer than two 8.5x11-inch pages, including all figures and references.
  • This extended abstract should use the same LaTeX template as full Mobisys 2020 papers; it should be formatted in two columns, single-spaced, and with a font no smaller than 10-point.
  • The title should begin with "Poster:" for posters and “Demos:” for demos.
  • Please do not anonymize your submissions.
  • Submissions must be in Adobe PDF format, and authors remain responsible for checking that their resulting PDF meets the MobiSys 2020 formatting guidelines.
  • Submission link for extended abstracts : https://mobisys20poster.hotcrp.com
  • Submissions for posters should only include the extended abstract, not the poster itself. Poster dimensions will be sent at a later date.
