Accommodations
We recommend booking your accommodation well in advance, as Cambridge is a popular destination, especially in June. Below are several options ranging from unique college rooms to modern hotels.
College Rooms
For a truly unique Cambridge experience, you can book a room in one of the University’s colleges. This is a popular and often cost-effective option, offering a chance to stay in a historic setting. Rooms are typically available outside of undergraduate term time.
- University Rooms: This is the central booking platform for rooms across many Cambridge colleges.
Eddington Accommodation
The conference is held at the Ray Dolby Centre and the William Gates Building (Computer Laboratory). The closest and most convenient accommodation is in Eddington, a modern and well-connected part of North-West Cambridge.
- Turing Locke and Hyatt Centric Cambridge: These modern apartment-hotels are located in the heart of Eddington, making them the easiest choice for walking to the conference venues. They offer contemporary rooms, studios, and one-bedroom suites with kitchenettes and living space.
Getting Around from Eddington
Eddington is located approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) from the historic city centre.
- By Bus: The Universal (U) bus service runs frequently between Eddington, West Cambridge, the city centre, and the central train station. A stop is conveniently located near the conference venues. The journey to the city centre typically takes about 15-20 minutes.
- By Foot: A pleasant walk to the city centre takes around 30-40 minutes, passing through some of the University’s green spaces.
City Centre Hotels
If you prefer to stay in the heart of the historic city, there are numerous hotels to choose from. This is a great option if you want to be close to restaurants, museums, and tourist attractions. Please note that you will need to take a bus or taxi to the conference venue from the city centre.
A few popular options include:
Other Transport
- Taxis: The main local taxi company is Veezu.
- Ride Sharing: Uber operates in Cambridge.
