ACM MobiCom 2021 is the twenty-seventh in a series of annual conferences sponsored by ACM SIGMOBILE dedicated to addressing the challenges in the areas of mobile computing and wireless and mobile networking. The MobiCom conference series serves as a highly selective, premier international forum addressing networks, systems, algorithms, and applications that support mobile computers and wireless networks. In addition to the regular conference program, MobiCom 2021 will include a set of workshops, research demonstrations, and a poster session that includes the ACM Student Research Competition.

Due to the spike in new COVID cases from the highly contagious omicron variant, we have decided to move the dates for MobiCom 2021 to now take place March 28-April 1, 2022, remaining in person at the Royal Sonesta hotel in New Orleans. When we originally rescheduled the conference from October 2021 to February 2022, COVID vaccines were widely available and the number of new COVID cases was declining -- and omicron didn't yet even exist. But now, we (the entire world) are in the middle of a severe omicron spike that is creating far more COVID cases in most places than even the worst of prior COVID variants did. Based on discussions with the MobiCom Steering Committee and SIGMOBILE Executive Committee, together with ACM, we have decided that the responsible thing to do would be to move the conference dates to after the forecast end of the omicron spike.

Note, too, that this is still being referred to as MobiCom 2021 and does not replace MobiCom 2022, which is being planned to be held at its normal time in the fall of 2022.
