Social Program

This year MobiHoc features a great social program, including a visit to S. Gimignano with banquet on May 24th, and a Women Breakfast on May 24th (7:30 - 8:30 am).

Visit to S. Gimignano

San Gimignano is a well-preserved medieval village located 55km (34 miles) south-west of Florence. San Gimignano features a wonderful skyline of medieval towers, and is also known for the many art and craft shops, and the "Vernaccia di S. Gimignano" white wine. The arrival to S. Gimignano is expected on Wednesday of May 24 by late afternoon, so that attendees have time to walk around in this beautiful village. After the visit in San Gimignano, the banquet will be served to the exclusive Relais della Cappuccina restaurant. Three different menus for the banquet: meat menu, fish menu, and vegetarian menu will be offered. Please make your menu choice in the registration form. Additional tickets for the San Gimignano visit and banquet cost US $85, and can be purchased at the time of registration or on-site. Please note that student registration does not include the visit and banquet in San Gimignano.

N^2 Women (Networking Networking Women) "Making Connections"

The N^2 Women (Networking Networking Women) "Making Connections" is an informal gathering intended to foster a sense of community by providing an opportunity for those interested in women's issues to meet, network, and share stories/advice. The theme of this breakfast is "Making Connections". Especially important will be the connections made between students and researchers, which will promote the benefits of a research career. The breakfast will be served in the magnificient Franciabigio room at the "Convitto della Calza" decorated with beautiful frescoes of XIV century.

This breakfast is free and open to all who are interested in issues pertaining to women in the field of networking. If you would like to attend, please notify it at the conference desk when you register. For more information about this event, please do not hesitate to contact N2Women-Info@acm.org.
