Highlights from ACM MobiCom 2025 in Hong Kong

ACM MobiCom 2025, the 31st Annual International Conference on Mobile Computing and Networking, was held in Hong Kong on November 4–8, 2025. As the flagship conference of ACM SIGMOBILE, MobiCom is a premier and highly selective forum for research on mobile computing and wireless networking. This year’s edition, led by General Co-Chairs Mo Li (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology) and Lili Qiu (Microsoft Research Asia), marked the conference’s return to China after 16 years, following its previous appearance in Beijing in 2009.

The technical program, co-chaired by Kate Ching-Ju Lin (National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University) and Ganesh Ananthanarayanan (Microsoft Research), featured a rich and diverse set of contributions: 76 regular papers from the main conference, two journal-track presentations from ACM Transactions on Internet of Things, record-setting poster (51) and demo (30) sessions, and a full day of 12 co-located workshops and one tutorial. The program was highlighted by two keynote talks from Olivier Seller (Semtech), on the evolution and future of low-power IoT, and Yunhao Liu (Tsinghua University), on the embodied intelligence of things.

MobiCom 2025 also strengthened its community-focused activities, with initiatives such as student travel grants, the Student Research Competition, the Student Mentorship Program, and N2Women events, reflecting SIGMOBILE’s ongoing commitment to supporting students and fostering diversity and inclusion across the mobile computing community.
